Stats Widgets
Show off your community's numbers in a clean row of statistics that count up as visitors scroll to them — things like "22,774 Residents", "46.9 Miles of Trails", or "23 Parks". You manage the numbers here; a matching display is placed on any page you like.
Before you begin
A Stats Widget is a small, self-contained row of numbers with a heading. Nothing has to exist first, but two things make it tidier:
- Have your numbers ready — each statistic is just a value (the big number) and a label (the words under it).
- Know which group the widget belongs to — a department, board, or committee. Assigning a group lets its staff find the widget on that group's content panel. See the Departments & Groups guide if you have not set your groups up yet.
A large site can have as many Stats Widgets as it likes — for example a different one on each department's page.
Everything lives under Left menu › Stats Widgets. From there you can see every Stats Widget on your site, create new ones, and open one to change its numbers.
1 Open Manage Stats Widgets
In the left sidebar click Stats Widgets to reach the Manage Stats Widgets screen. It lists every widget on your site with its group, how many statistics it holds, and when it was last updated. Click a widget's name to open and edit it.
2 Add a Stats Widget
Click Add Stats Widget and fill in the top of the form:
- Name — an internal label just for you, so you can tell your widgets apart in the list (for example "Public Works — By the Numbers"). Visitors never see this.
- Group — the department, board, or committee this widget belongs to. Choosing one makes the widget appear on that group's content panel so its staff can find it. You can leave it as None.
- Title — the heading shown across the top of the widget on your website (for example "Lino Lakes by the Numbers"). Leave it blank for no heading.
3 Enter your statistics
Under Statistics you will see a set of rows, each with a Value and a Label. Fill in between two and six of them and leave the rest blank — empty rows are simply skipped.
- Value is the big number that counts up, for example 22,774, 46.9, or 23. It can include symbols — commas, a decimal point, a percent sign, a plus, or a dollar amount all work (for example 98%, 500+, or $1.2M). The animation counts up to the number and keeps any symbols in place.
- Label is the short description underneath, for example Residents, Miles of Trails, or Parks.
The statistics appear on the website in the same order they are listed here, top to bottom. When everything looks right, click Create Stats Widget (or Save Changes).
4 Edit and delete
To change a widget later, open Left menu › Stats Widgets and click its name. Update the name, group, title, or any of the numbers and click Save Changes — the website updates to match.
To remove a widget, open it and use the Delete this Stats Widget button at the bottom of the edit screen. Deleting it also removes it from any page it was showing on.
5 Showing it on your site
Creating a Stats Widget stores the numbers; a matching display then gets placed on whichever page or template you want it on. That placement is done with your site's design tools, so it is usually handled by whoever manages your site's look and feel.
If you would like a Stats Widget added to a page — or restyled to match your colors and fonts — your site administrator can drop it in, or reach out to EvoGov support and we will place it for you. Once it is on a page, the numbers animate upward the moment a visitor scrolls down to them.
